Practicing Social Distancing
Updated: Apr 11, 2020
Hey guys! I've been practicing social distancing for a few weeks now, 3 or 4 to be exactly and I’m trying to take this transition and make it the best that I can. Since this is our new “normal” after all, I’ve taken it upon myself to find ways to stay productive while staying in touch with my family, and friends all while practicing self-care, of course.
I’ve heard from a lot of you that this hasn’t been the easiest time, and while it’s okay to feel that way, and feel anxiety and a little lost I still wanted to share some things that have helped me pass the time and enjoy this time at home.
At Home Workouts
I shared a blog post last week of some of my favorite workouts . You can find the blog post for a more in depth update of what I’ve been doing!
Zoom Calls with Friends
I’ve loved seeing everyone share their Zoom calls, happy hours, group workouts, and more. It reminds me of the days when we would all hop on our webcams to chat on the weekends, except now it’s just our new reality. Everyone has gotten so creative, even through a simple web call! We’ve seen Zoom happy hours, DJ sets, and even dates. I love it. Doing this throughout the week has really helped me stay in touch with my loved ones and it’s given me a bigger sense of appreciation for being able to hang out with them (even if it’s virtually).
Today my friends and I are actually working out together on a zoom video call!
Now I’ve been binge-watching shows and movies just as much as the rest of you, but Netflix is really changing the game! Since we’re all staying home, Netflix’s Party plugin has come in handy. If you’re not familiar with it, Netflix created an online plugin that allows you to watch your favorite movies and TV shows with friends. It’s just like getting together for your usual movie night, except you all have the comfort of your own beds and couches. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Some recent Netflix shows I’ve watched are Tiger King, Ozarks Season 3 and not so recent but a favorite is You (season 1 and 2 are out now!)
I’ve always been honest with you guys about the fact that I enjoy cooking , but that’s all been changing as of late. I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen, making my favorite foods, and trying some new ones. It’s a great way to pass the time with your family and take my mind off of everything that’s going on in the world, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
P.S., I’ve also been sharing my meals on Instagram and my Mom made a new Channel that we are enjoying and take it day by day.
I recently bought new things to update the decoration of my room and a few things that I didn't have the time before to do it.
Tip: (You can found great pieces on Amazon and online sites ) since most of the stores are closed right now ..
