My Favorite Beauty Products For A sunny Day.
I’ve been staying home as much as I can but getting out of the house every once in awhile has been so good for my mental health even it its just to stop bye to the groceries store.. I go on walks near the house sometimes to get fresh air or sit outside (safely!) at the park. Even if my time in the sun is limited this season, I have my Summer beauty favorites for when I venture outdoors.
If you’re planning on heading to the beach or the pool for a safe and socially-distanced daycation, you should be prepared with products to protect your skin, hair, and body. but don't forget to have fun — you deserve it! — and don’t forget to wear your masks and remember to physically distance yourself from other people as much as possible.
Here are some skincare, haircare, and body care products that you can pack in your beach tote to both protect you before sun exposure, as well as help you recoup afterward.
Summer Fridays CC Me Serum While I love CC Me Serum year-round, it’s an especially great serum to add to your summer skincare routine. Not only does it brighten your skin with two different forms of vitamin C to leave you with a soft glow, but it also nourishes your skin with ingredients like squalane and peptides to encourage a youthful, bouncy appearance. Plus, the brightening effects of vitamin C are strengthened by the effects of putting SPF on afterward, so it’s especially great for those long days in the sun.
Supergoop Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 Of course, you can’t forget your SPF! This broad spectrum sunscreen from Supergoop — my favorite SPF company — not only shields your skin from the sun’s harmful rays, but it also contains little pearlescent particles that boost your skin’s glow. It works as a makeup primer as well, in case you’re not planning on jumping in the water.
Playa Endless Summer Spray When preparing for a day in the sun, you often think about your skin, but you forget that your hair needs protection, too. The Endless Summer Spray from Playa helps enhance your beach waves, and also protects it from environmental damage thanks its beta-carotene content. It’s a texturizing spray and hair protectant all in one, leaving you with beautiful, effortless waves.
Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Sol Oil SPF 30 I love letting my skin get a little tanner in the summertime, but I only ever want to do it safely — with lots of SPF involved. No one knows golden, glowy, tanned skin better than the folks at Sol de Janeiro, and their Bum Bum Sol Oil proves it. It has SPF 30 to ensure that your skin stays protected while you lay out, and it also contains cupuaçu butter and açai oil to hydrate and protect the skin.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask One of my favorite things about our Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is the cooling effect that comes from the chestnut extract, making it perfect for those days when your skin is feeling a little inflamed from sun exposure. The ingredient works double duty, both cooling the skin and also gently encouraging cellular turnover (which is a must if you get burned and your skin starts to flake). Plus, it’s deeply hydrating, which is also a must after prolonged sun exposure.
Dae Deep Conditioning Treatment If you spent some time in the pool, your hair is likely pretty dry and stripped due to the chlorine. You’ll need a nourishing treatment like Dae’s Deep Conditioning Treatment to help bring it back to life a little. Not only does this deep conditioner smell so good, but it’s also packed with ingredients like moringa leaf extract, coconut oil, and jojoba oil to deposit moisture deep into the strands and onto your scalp — which is a major plus if your scalp got a little toasted out in the sun.
Nécessaire The Body Wash Everyone who follows me on Instagram knows that I can’t stop raving about The Body Wash from Nécessaire. It feels so luxurious on the skin because it gets all nice and foamy, but because it’s sulfate-free, it also doesn’t strip the skin. It contains niacinamide, a derivative of vitamin B3, to nourish and hydrate the skin and encourage a more youthful appearance as you wash away any remnants of sunscreen or chlorine.
Mutha Body Butter After baking in the sun all day, I like to follow up after my shower with a deeply hydrating body product, like Mutha’s Body Butter. This super thick butter helps seal in all of the moisture from the shower so that my skin immediately feels nourished, and luckily, a little bit of it goes a long way.
